Chess Clock terms of service
01Who we are
Chess Clock is published by Mlabs, MB (company code 307689679), a software company in the EU. Our registered office and other company details are in the legal notice. For questions about these terms or the app, write to info@10k.live.
02The app
Chess Clock is a two-player clock for games of chess played on a physical board. It runs offline, needs no account, shows no ads and has no in-app purchases. The app is free.
You download Chess Clock from Google Play. Google Play's own terms also apply to the download and to updates delivered through Google Play.
03Your license
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Chess Clock on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial or club use. You may not sell, rent or redistribute the app, publish modified copies of it, or remove its notices. You may not reverse engineer it except where the law allows you to. Chess Clock, its name, design and artwork belong to Mlabs, MB; open-source components keep their own licenses.
04Timing and fair play
Chess Clock keeps time on your device. We designed it to be accurate and to pause rather than keep running when the app is interrupted, but a phone can still be affected by its battery, operating system, other apps or physical damage. Chess Clock is not certified for the rules of any chess federation or tournament. Organizers and arbiters decide whether it may be used and how disputes about time are settled.
05Your games and settings
Your games and settings stay on your device, as the privacy policy explains. You are responsible for your device, any copies or backups you make, and any information you choose to type into the app. Uninstalling the app or clearing its storage removes your local records, and we cannot recover them.
06Children
Chess Clock can be used by players of every age. It collects no personal information and has no ads or purchases. A child's use of a phone, including its backups and the email or browser apps that the support and privacy links open, stays under the family's control.
07Changes and availability
We may update Chess Clock, change its features or stop offering it, for example to fix problems, keep it working with new versions of Android or meet legal requirements. Updates arrive through Google Play. If we stop offering the app, a copy already on your device may keep working, but we may no longer support it.
08Your rights and our responsibility
Chess Clock is free, and we provide it as it is, to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law, including your statutory rights where the app does not conform to what we promised.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as a device fault or an operating-system change. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, for intentional or grossly negligent conduct, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
09Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the EU member state where Mlabs, MB is registered, as shown in the legal notice. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts there. Please contact us first at info@10k.live so we can try to resolve the issue.
10Changes to these terms
A later version of these terms will carry its own effective date on this page. If a change materially affects how you use Chess Clock, we will make it clear on this page before it takes effect.
